25th/26th July & 1st August - Wide Leg Trouser Block Course
Founding cohort price — future courses will be priced higher
—————-
A 3 Day Trouser Block Course To Draft Trousers That Fit Maximum x 4 people for adequate 1:1 time with Geri
"What I learned will definitely inform my future trouser making, which I'll approach with new understanding and confidence" — Nicki, beta cohort
—————
Trousers are one of the hardest garments to fit well. The gaping waistband. The baggy seat. The pulling across the thighs. The hem that never quite sits right.
Sound familiar?
The reason commercial trouser patterns never quite work is the same reason dress patterns don't - they're drafted for a standardised body that almost nobody actually has. Your rise is different. Your hip-to-waist ratio is different. Your body is unique.
The solution isn't a better pattern. It's making your own :)
In this course you'll draft a wide leg trouser block from scratch, entirely to your own measurements. No guessing, no hoping for the best, no more trousers that almost fit.
🙋🏻♀️ Who the trouser block course is for
This course is for you if you've been sewing for a while, have made trousers before, and want to understand fit properly.
You need to be curious, motivated, and comfortable with learning through doing
It's also a brilliant next step if you've already done the dress block course and want to build out your pattern cutting foundations.
🤓 What you'll learn
How to take the measurements that matter for trouser drafting, and why each one is taken the way it is.
How to draft a wide leg trouser block from scratch using your unique measurements.
How to fit your toile and understand what you're looking at; crotch depth, rise, seat, side seam. All of it, explained simply.
How to translate fitting amendments back to your pattern accurately.
The logic behind waistband, zip and fly construction so the construction makes sense when you get home
✨ What you'll leave with
A working wide leg trouser block drafted entirely to your measurements.
A fitting method you can use every time you make trousers.
A beautifully designed workbook laying out every step of the process. Yours to keep and refer back to at home.
New confidence and understanding when it comes to drafting, fitting and amending trouser patterns.
Trouser foundations meaning you’ll never having to settle for almost fitting trousers again!
